Chelsea Assaf
Hi, I’m Chelsea! I am a board certified Music Therapist who believes that the power of creative music and play can help nurture all aspects of learning and development. My approach is child-centered and neurodiversity-affirming, focusing on each child’s individual interests and strengths while meeting them where they are at in the present moment. I love using music as a bridge to connection, creativity, and communication, while helping nourish and support each child’s development and reach their goals through fun, success-oriented musical experiences.
I completed a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Ottawa in 2015, and after a few years of travel and living abroad, moved to North Vancouver and completed my Bachelor of Music Therapy from Capilano University in 2023. I have worked as a music therapist with children and youth across Metro Vancouver for over four years in private practice, preschools, the public school system, and after school centres. I also have experience working with youth and adults with mental health and addictions challenges, as well as with seniors in long-term care.
Beyond music, I love travelling, exploring other creative outlets like pottery, and enjoying our beautiful North Shore through hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing!

(She/Hers)
Hi! I’m Lisa (she/hers). I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I completed my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology (Honours) at Western University and my Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Simon Fraser University. I am currently working towards my registration to become a Registered Play Therapist in BC.
I have over a decade of experience supporting adults, children, youth, and families. My career has primarily been in government and non-profit settings starting with the Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation and the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre in Children’s Hospital in 2010. I have worked as a counsellor both in Canada and abroad in the United Kingdom. Along with working at Little Peak, I am on the Board of Directors for the BC Play Therapy Association and a counsellor at the Hope Centre at Lions Gate Hospital.
I am passionate about normalizing counselling and eliminating the stigma around mental health challenges (just ask me about my own journey with mental health and counselling). I recognize my immense privilege as a white, cis-gendered, woman in a hetero relationship. I grew up with access to housing, financial stability and education. It is essential to observe how the forces of privilege and oppression impact everyone’s mental health and how my social location serves me in society.
I know firsthand that it can be scary to seek counselling but I also know that it can be incredibly liberating and life changing. My goal is to create a safe space so that you, your kids, and your family can experience the benefits of counselling.
I love music, animals, arts and crafts, and the feeling of taking a nap without having to set an alarm.

Hi, my name is Samantha (or Sam). I am an Occupational Therapist (OT) with a passion for supporting children with diverse abilities, and their families, in meeting their goals through neurodiversity-affirming, evidence-informed, and play-based approaches. I strive to create inclusive and safe spaces that allow every child to thrive.
In 2023, I earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Kinesiology from Capilano University and in 2025 I earned a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of British Columbia. Before becoming an OT, I worked as a Behavioural Interventionist for children with Autism and as an Access and Inclusion Support Worker for children’s recreational summer camps. These experiences have strengthened my aspiration to foster meaningful participation, build confidence, and celebrate each child’s unique strengths.
Outside of work I like to learn new things (like playing cello), ski, enjoy nature, make cards, and play video games. I am excited to continue growing as an OT and to make a positive impact in the lives of the children and families I support.

MOT, CHCPBC #AZ5140
Hi, I’m Robert! I’m a pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT) who is passionate about supporting children with diverse developmental abilities and neurodivergent brains. My practice is grounded in neurodiversity-affirming principles and evidence-based approaches, using play as a central tool to help each child grow, thrive, and engage meaningfully in their daily life. I value collaboration with families and strive to create a space where every child feels safe, included, understood, and valued.
I earned my Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of British Columbia following my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Honours) from the University of Victoria. Throughout my education, I have worked with children from kindergarten through adolescence and into the transition to adulthood. My clinical training includes supporting children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), cerebral palsy (CP), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), and various muscular dystrophies. I was inspired to pursue occupational therapy while working as a child development assistant, supporting a child with developmental coordination disorder (DCD).
I am committed to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development. I have completed the Cognitive Orientation to Daily Occupational Performance (CO-OP) Comprehensive Workshop by ICAN and the Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing: Managing Complex Issues workshop led by Sherna Marcus. I am currently pursuing further education in sensory processing and introductory training in DIRFloortime®. I strive to stay up to date with best practices in pediatric care.
In my work, I collaborate closely with children and their families to develop practical, engaging strategies that build on each child’s strengths and fit naturally into daily routines. Through purposefully incorporated play, creative problem-solving, and meaningful use of my clients’ interests, I aim to support skill development and confidence that carry into all areas of life.
I have grown up and lived internationally and across Ontario and British Columbia and speak English and German fluently. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through running and swimming, cooking and baking for friends (especially chocolate chip cookies), getting lost in a good book, and playing both board games and video games. I also love animals, music, and art. I’m excited to get to know you and to incorporate your child’s favourite interests into our sessions!

MSc.OT, CHCPBC# AV4363
Hi, I’m Rachel!
I’m an occupational therapist passionate about providing high-quality, collaborative, and neurodivergent-affirming care for teens and young adults. I take a strengths-based, relationship-first approach, supporting clients to better understand their nervous systems, emotional regulation, and sensory experiences so they can feel more confident and capable in daily life.
I have lived experience with ADHD, which informs my work and allows me to deeply understand the challenges that can come with emotional regulation, executive functioning, burnout, and feeling “out of sync” with expectations. I work alongside neurodivergent teens and young adults to explore what works for them, helping to develop practical strategies that honour their individuality rather than trying to force one-size-fits-all solutions.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Kinesiology from Western University in 2018, followed by a post-graduate certificate in Gerontology from Fanshawe College. I later returned to Western to complete my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2021.
Outside of my professional work, I value reflection, growth, and authenticity. I enjoy hiking, connecting with friends, trivia nights, and journaling by the ocean. In the winter months, I volunteer on the mountain with Vancouver Adaptive Snow Sports (VASS) as a snowboard instructor!
Availability: In clinic Mondays, and limited availability for home-based visits.
Please contact admin at info@littlepeaktherapy.ca to book Initial. If you are a current client, you may email Rachel directly to schedule a subsequent visit.
